Delete your RouteDrift account

How to delete your account in the app or by email, what is erased, and what is kept without your name.

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. You are signed out on every device, and you can sign up again later with the same email address as a new account.

1. Delete your account in the app

Open the RouteDrift app and sign in.
Go to the Profile tab and tap “Delete account”.
If the app lists rides, bookings or a pass, finish or cancel them first (see “What must be finished first” below).
Enter your password and tick “I understand that deleting my account is permanent”.
Tap “Delete my account”, then confirm. Your account is deleted right away and every session is signed out.

2. What must be finished first

To protect the other people on your trips, an account cannot be deleted while it still has:

upcoming rides you are driving — cancel them from the ride or from the deletion screen;
upcoming bookings as a passenger — cancel them from your trips;
an active passenger pass — cancel it in Profile → Passenger passes;
RouteDrift staff access — an administrator must remove it first.

Cancellation rules still apply. For example, the RouteDrift service fee is not refunded if you cancel a booking the driver has already accepted.

3. What is deleted

Your profile: name, photo, bio, preferences, phone number, date of birth, address and emergency contact.
Your identity and licence documents, selfie, vehicle documents and photos, and your driver verification status.
Your notifications and the devices registered for push notifications.
Vehicles that were never used on a trip. Vehicles used on past trips keep only their make and model: the licence plate, colour and photo are erased.
Your private files (profile, vehicle, verification and parcel photos).
Your sign-in. Your email address is released, so you can create a new account with it later.

4. What is kept, without your name

Past trips, bookings, payments and reviews. Other members see “Deleted user” instead of your name.
Payment and service-fee records, which we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (generally six years in Canada).
Safety and support reports you filed or that concern you, which may be needed for an investigation or a legal claim.

5. Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email support@routedrift.com from the email address on your RouteDrift account, with the subject “Account deletion request”.

To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm that you own it. We complete verified requests within 30 days and confirm by email. The same rules apply: we will ask you to cancel or let us cancel any upcoming rides, bookings or pass first.

6. Only want to remove some information?

You can change your profile, photo, emergency contact and vehicles at any time in the app. To ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or the deletion of specific information without closing your account, email us — see the Privacy Policy for your rights.
